2. Collection and Storage of Personal Data as well as the Nature and Purpose of its Use


a) Order Processing

When the customer places an order with us, we collect the following information: title, first name, last name, a valid e-mail address, address, telephone number (landline and / or mobile) as well as information necessary for carrying out the order placed with us.

We use this data for order processing, collection, delivery, order picking, returns processing, goods traffic, payment transactions, credit checks, delivery to the specified address and, if necessary, the processing of cancellations and refunds. In short, to fulfill our logistics services. We also use the data to inform our customers about our offers.

Data processing takes place at the request of the customer and is required according to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. b DSGVO (German General Data Protection Regulation = GDPR) for the stated purposes for the proper execution of the order and for the mutual fulfillment of obligations arising from the order.

The personal data collected by us in connection with the order will be stored for a period of ... years and then deleted, unless we are obliged to store data for a longer period of time in accordance with Article 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR due to tax and commercial requirements for storage and documentation (German Commercial Code, German Panel Code or German Tax Code) or unless the client has consented to further storage in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.

b) Website Visit

When you visit our website https://www.nortrop.de, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until automated deletion after seven days: IP address of the requesting computer, date and time of access, name and URL of the retrieved file, website from which the access is made (referrer URL), status code, browser used and, if necessary, the operating system of your computer as well as the name of your access provider.

The above data will be processed by us for the following purposes: ensuring a smooth connection setup of the website, ensuring a comfortable use of our website, evaluation of system security and stability as well as for other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest ensues from the data collection purposes listed above. Under no circumstances we will use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about you.

Voluntary contact via e-mail is technically separate from the website. Your personal data such as name and e-mail address will be needed in order to answer your request. This data will under no circumstances be passed on to third parties.

 

3. Disclosure of Data

A transfer of your personal data to third parties for purposes other than those listed below will not take place.

We will only disclose your personal data to third parties if you have expressly consented to this in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sent. 1 lit. a GDPR, if disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR is required for the execution of the order and if there is no reason to believe that you have a predominantly legitimate interest in the non-disclosure of your data, in the event of a legal obligation of disclosure pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR, as well as if this is permitted by law and in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR and necessary for the settlement of contractual relationships with you.

4. Rights of the Party concerned

You have the right:

  • in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, to request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular, you can demand information on the processing purposes, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the right to rectification, deletion, limitation of processing or opposition, the existence of the right to complain, the source of your data, if not collected from us, and the existence of automated decision-making including profiling and, where appropriate, conclusive information about their details;
  • in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, to immediately demand the completion or correction of incorrect personal data stored with us;
  • in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, to demand the deletion of your personal data stored by us, unless processing is required for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information, for the fulfillment of a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims;
  • to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data according to Art. 18 GDPR, if accuracy of the data is disputed by you, if the processing is unlawful but you reject its deletion and we no longer need the data but the data is required by you for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims or if you have objected to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR;
  • in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR, to receive your personal data provided to us in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request transmission to another person responsible;
  • according to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR, to revoke your consent given to us at any time. As a result, we are not allowed to continue the data processing based on this consent for the future and
  • to complain to a supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or work or of our office.

 

5. Right to Object

If your personal data is processed based on legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to file an objection against the processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, provided that there are reasons for this arising from your particular situation or the objection is directed against direct advertising. In the latter case, you have a general right of objection, which will be implemented by us without any particular situation being specified.

6. Data Security

We use the popular SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method for visits to our website, in conjunction with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. In general, this is a 256-bit encryption. The actual strength of encryption depends on the browser. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption or if you are using older versions of browsers, it can happen that encryption only takes place with 128, 56 or 40 bits, whereby always the best possible encryption for the respective browser is automatically used. Whether an individual page of our website is encrypted is shown by the closed representation of the key or lock icon in the lower status bar of your browser.
